Lorde's new song 'Liability' is heartbreaking
Prepare to feel all the feels
Lorde just loves giving us reasons to love Fridays – last week, she dropped Green Light, her first single from upcoming album Melodrama and today, she's blessed us with slow ballad, Liability. The song, which Lorde co-wrote with Jack Antonoff, is about rejection and loneliness and with the singer's raw voice belting lyrics like The truth is I am a toy / That people enjoy / Til all of the tricks don't work anymore / And then they are bored of me anyone who's ever experienced heartbreak can definitely relate to the number.
In an interview, Lorde revealed that listening to Rihanna's Higher inspired her new song.
"I was like, you know what, I'm always gonna have myself so I have to really nurture this relationship and feel good about hanging out with myself and loving myself," the 20-year-old added.
Lorde has also confirmed that her sophomore album will be released on 16 June. Until then, plug in your earphones, listen to Liability and maybe have a really good cry.
