Lisa Surihani is more selective about film roles since becoming a mother
The actress explains why she may want to avoid playing the bad guy
Lisa Surihani recently became a mother, and it has changed her life in more ways than one. Her career decisions have also been affected by motherhood, as the actress explained how she wants to be more selective when it comes to choosing film roles.
"I'll be more selective with roles from now on, especially when it comes to antagonist roles," she said at the press conference of her latest film Sinaran. "There will be limits. It's not because when my children grow up, it would be bad for them to see the kind of people we play, but it's just my opinion."
Lisa doesn't play the bad guy in Sinaran, which co-stars Evan Sanders and features singer Sheila Majid in a minor role. Sinaran, a musical film, also has dance sequences, for which Lisa had to change her eating habits.
"Before filming started, I had to go on a diet and watch what I eat. I only ate nutritious food so that my body will be fit enough for the dance scenes," she added.
In terms of motherhood duties, it seems all is well, even though Lisa doesn't yet want to introduce baby Yahaira Leanne to the public eye. However, the 29-year-old actress has no qualms about documenting her baby shopping sprees on Instagram.
