Lily-Rose Depp stars in her first movie, 'Yoga Hosers'
She plays an angsty teenager fighting off cute boys and evil forces
16-year-old Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, is making her acting debut in Yoga Hosers. The movie was screened at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, and is directed by Kevin Smith, who also did Clerks and Mallrats.
For a teen of such pedigree (the gene pool lucky draw doesn't really get better than Depp + Paradis), it makes perfect sense that fame comes first. We saw her in a Chanel campaign and on the cover of magazines already, and now she's following in the footsteps of her dad.
The movie is a coming-of-age, teenage angst fest, surrounding her and Harley Quinn Smith as two high school sophomores working at a convenience store. Apparently it also has to do with cute senior boys and evil forces (we can't even), so reminiscent of Nightmare on Elm Street that Johnny starred in when he was 21.
We're hoping her first time hitting the big screen, though it is shaping up to be a Scream-esque flick, will be free of cheese and she'll earn major acting chops. Watch the trailer above.
