Kristen Stewart makes directing debut
The Twilight star goes behind the camera for Sage + The Saints's 'Take Me To The South' music video
[Updated 28 May 2014] The music video for Take Me To The South has just been released.
Kristen Stewart has starred in vampire films, she's fronted a campaign for Chanel, and she's kept up that perpetual sulk for as long as we've known her. Shame on us for thinking she'll stop there. The Panic Room actress made a somewhat sudden move to directing, but apparently, this isn't unprecedented.
"I've been saying I want to direct movies since I was ten years old," the 24-year-old said in an interview.
Taking the reins with co-director David Ethan Shapiro, Kristen headed out to Tennessee to film the music video for Take Me To The South by her friend Sage Galesi of Sage + The Saints. Shooting the country song documentary-style, Kristen said, "We wanted it to feel like a glimpse of her life."
With her wild, wild west themed Chanel shoot and her dabbing into country western music, does this mean that Kristen is a country music girl?
"No," she said. "This is what's so funny. This is something that Sage and I have not shared, and most everything in our friendship is... we have so much in common. So I was like: What? You want to do a country song?"
Well, Kristen, we're actually looking forward to seeing if you have the directing chops, whether you like it or not.
