Kendall Jenner in tears while talking about her dad
Bruce Jenner's transition into a woman sparks emotional response from his daughter
The Kardashians and Jenners are speaking up about Bruce Jenner's sex transition. In a new promo for an upcoming Keeping Up with the Kardashians special, Kendall Jenner is seen walking out of a conversation with her father and sister Khloé to get a tissue.
"He's the most amazing person I know. I couldn't ask for a better dad," a teary-eyed Kendall says in the clip. "He taught me how to ride a bike and be the tomboy that I am."
Struggling to keep herself together, the 19-year-old model remembers how her father has always dedicated himself to his kids, including taking long drives to drop them off and pick them up from school.
"Every single day we went to school 45 minutes away from home. He would drive us to school, he'd be the first one in the line to pick us up," she added.
The promo ends with a snippet of a home video, in which Bruce and Kris are about to send the girls to school (and Kim Kardashian is still a teenager!). In another clip, Kim comforts her mother Kris, who is trying to deal with her husband's new identity.
"He has to deal with this for his entire life, of waking up and feeling like, 'Whoa, this isn't my body, this doesn't feel comfortable,'" Kim says. "That's the only way I can kind of imagine it, and you really have to like, let go."
To Kris, however, Bruce's decision has had a heavy impact on her life. "I have these memories of this life and I feel sometimes like it didn't exist," she says.
Bruce revealed in his interview with Diane Sawyer that Kim has been the most accepting of all his family members, and he has her husband Kanye West to thank for her that.
"He says to Kim, "Look, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful little daughter in the world, and I have that. But I'm nothing if I can't be me. If I can't be true to myself, they don't mean anything,'" Bruce told Diane.
That's from Kanye, everyone. (Now, where's that box of tissues?)
The two-hour Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce special airs in two parts on 17 and 18 May on E! and will see Bruce having intimate conversations with his family about his transition.
