Katy Perry has started her own record label

The singer has founded Metamorphosis Music under Capitol Records, with Ferras as her first signee

Katy Perry has introduced her own recording label, Metamorphosis Music, her first big-time producing venture with Capitol Records. She's even already signed her first client, LA-based singer-songwriter Ferras Alqaisi.

Katy executive-produced Ferras' eponymous EP and was featured on one of the songs, Legends Never Die. "Ferras is a man with a message, and a unique lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen," Katy said.

To be honest, we're grateful that the singer didn't christen her label Kitty Purry, although we think Roar Records would've had a ring to it. Metamorphosis Music emblem is shaped like a butterfly; are you surprised?
