Kate and Cara in joint Burberry campaign
It's going to be a thoroughly British affair
Just days after Karl Lagerfeld likened Cara Delevingne to Kate Moss – “girls admire her like they used to Kate Moss. They all want to be as free as her,” he said – it’s been announced that the two models will star together in a campaign for Burberry.
The ad is for a yet-to-be-released fragrance, and the campaign was shot by Kate’s good pal Mario Testino. Kate first appeared in a Burberry campaign back in 1999, while Cara’s debut was in 2010. Although the two have featured on parallel covers for Love magazine and have walked in the same fashion shows, this will mark the first time they’ve ever shared a campaign or editorial. A behind-the-scenes snap from the shoot, posted on Cara’s Instagram account yesterday, showed the two in classic Burberry trenches, natural make-up and messy hair. So take that Karl. Seems Kate isn’t actually so irrelevant after all.
