Ahead of a royal tour of Australia in April, Kate Middleton is rumoured to be receiving a Queen-mandated makeover. It seems Queen Elizabeth has ordered a review of Kate’s shorter hemlines, to be replaced with a more couture-heavy rotation of day dresses. (Alice Temperley and Alexander McQueen are names that have been mentioned as QEII-approved.)

Queen Elizabeth has also proffered the services of her personal dresser Angela Kelly, who will assist Kate in the delicate task of choosing tour-appropriate jewels and tiaras from the Queen’s personal collection. Angela has been dressing the Queen for the past 20 years, and boasts an extensive knowledge of wardrobe protocol.

This may mean no more Zara for the Duchess of Cambridge, but on the other hand, tiaras are nothing to be sniffed at.
