Joseph Gordon-Levitt married in secret
Nearly two weeks has passed since Joseph Gordon-Levitt said goodbye to bachelorhood. The actor and director tied the knot with his girlfriend Tasha McCauley on 20 December. Their relationship has always been under the radar, so it was only natural that their nuptials were the same.
"I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public," Joseph told Howard Stern in 2013. "The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of that."
Tasha is not in showbiz. In fact, according to her Twitter bio, she co-founded robotics company Fellow Robots, which is based at NASA Research Park in Mountain View, California. Congratulations, you two!
Hayley Williams is engaged
Chad Gilbert, the guitarist for rock band New Found Glory, proposed to Paramore lead vocalist Hayley Williams on Christmas day and she said yes. Chad only spilled the happy news yesterday on Instagram.
The pair started dating in 2008. The When It Rains singer posted a throwback photo of them from a Disneyland trip after tweeting "Can't even keep up w/ the sweet texts, emails, tweets. Thx so much yall! We're so psyched! See yall in 2015." We can't wait to see if Hayley puts a punky spin on her wedding dress.
Alec Baldwin's wife is pregnant
More happy news for 2015! Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are expecting their second child together. They already have a daughter, Carmen, who was born in 2013. Alec has another daughter, 19-year-old model Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
Hilaria announced her pregnancy on Instagram, writing "The sun has set on 2014 and on my year of daily#hilariaypd ....2015 is going to be very exciting as we are thrilled to announce we are expecting another little addition to our family!" The accompanying photo is as adorable as you'd expect, thanks to little Carmen.
Ethan Hawke feels sorry for Jennifer Lawrence...
...and our first reaction would be: why would anyone feel sorry for successful, Oscar-winning, Forbes list-topping Jennifer Lawrence? Ethan Hawke thinks it's exactly that – her success – that makes him feel sorry for the actress.
"I feel sorry for a young actress like Jennifer Lawrence who gets so much success out of the gate, because how are you supposed to develop an appropriate work ethic? How do you push yourself to be better when you get an Oscar for buying breakfast in the morning?" he said during an interview with The Daily Beast. "Failure can at least be fuel to inspire you to be better, while success can just drown you."
Not sure what he thinks of Jennifer's peer Emma Watson, with whom he stars in upcoming drama Regression, then. The 24-year-old Brit started her career even earlier than Jennifer, what with the Harry Potter franchise and all. Although Emma's name is yet to be associated with an Oscar or Golden Globe, that may soon change with more serious roles coming her way. What then, Ethan? How about a little faith in young talent?
Selena Gomez under fire for showing ankle at Abu Dhabi mosque
Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson were part of a big group who visited Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Mosque recently, and some of the photos taken were a tad too controversial for the pious.
In one particular photo (seen below), Selena posed with her leg deliberately stuck out to reveal her ankle, which was enough to spark negative comments from Muslims everywhere. It is a general rule at mosques that displaying skin is strictly prohibited, as a sign of respect to those who go there to pray. While the singer and her company wore modest robes over their clothes, Selena's pose was deemed a little over the top. She has since removed the photo from Instagram, but the other photo of the group posing in the mosque remains on her feed.
