If you haven't already heard, Johor princess Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim will marry Dennis Muhammad bin Abdullah on 14 August. In a new interview with the Royal Press Office (RPO), she revealed her preparations for her upcoming nuptials that will take place on 14 August.

The 31-year-old princess and only daughter to Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah said that the wedding will be one that showcases the uniqueness of the Johor royal family and its heritage.

"Tuanku Sultan showed me a picture of his father (the late Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail) and mother (Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Abdullah) at their wedding," Tunku Tun Aminah said. "He said that Dennis and I should emulate what they wore as a way of perpetuating Johor's royal culture and traditions. Otherwise, he fears that our uniqueness as Johoreans will be lost forever."

The princess also added that to fulfil her father's wishes, she will wear the baju kurung teluk belanga while her husband-to-be will wear the baju melayu teluk belanga. These are Johor's traditional ceremonial garments.

"I would like it to be a meaningful occasion for my family and friends... that is what matters the most to me," the princess added. "It does not have to be grand or lavish."

Her betrothal ceremony will take place at 10am on 14 August at Johor's Istana Bukit Serene and her bersanding ceremony will happen at 8pm on the same day at Istana Besar.
