Her love don't cost a thing, but it seems that Jennifer Lopez's sudden withdrawal from the 2014 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony may cost her a few disappointed fans. FIFA announced that Jennifer won't perform because of unspecified "production issues".

The singer was to join Pitbull and Claudia Leitte in Brazil this Thursday, 12 June to perform We Are One, the official song to kick off the opening match between Brazil and Croatia.

"Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies," one of her representatives said. She did not attend the official unveiling of plans for the song in January either.

Last week, Jennifer expressed her excitement about performing at the opening ceremony, saying "This is an amazing celebration of global unity, competition and sport."

Even though she isn't going to be performing anymore, Pitbull is no less excited. "To be performing We Are One to the world, especially in such a beautiful country like Brazil, is going to be a lot of fun. But more than this, it is going to show the world that music is the universal language," he said.
