Jay-Z admits to cheating on Beyoncé
The rapper opened up about his infidelity and the album he made with Beyoncé
In an in-depth interview with T magazine, rapper Jay-Z got candid and opened up about his latest album 4:44 that received eight nominations in the upcoming Grammys. He admitted that the album was about the issues he was experiencing at the moment that led to his cheating on wife Beyoncé.
"In my case, like it's, it's deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity...," Jay said. He also confessed that the rumoured album he collaborated on with Bey before Lemonade dropped does actually exist. He claimed that working with Bey on an unreleased album felt "almost like a therapy session".
"We started making music together...And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on," Jay said. "We still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, 'I'm making this album.' I was right there the entire time."
He also spoke about how the album was "uncomfortable" but necessary to make. "The best place is right in the middle of the pain...and that's where we were sitting. It was uncomfortable. And we had a lot of conservations. You know. [I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another's craft. I think she's amazing."
"You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something 'cause most people can't see themselves," he added. "The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone's face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself."
Okay, Jay. So when's the album coming out?
