Is Siti Nurhaliza pregnant?
The Malaysian singer responds to the pregnancy rumours
[Updated 11 November 2015] Datuk Siti Nurhaliza has shut down rumours about her being pregnant. "I'm not pregnant," she told Rotikaya.com. "Those rumours are not true."
Meanwhile, her stepson Asyraf Khalid maintained that he never said anything about his father and stepmother expecting a child.
"I never made a statement like that. There might have been a misunderstanding," he told Rotikaya.com at the recent Anugerah Skrin 2015 awards at PWTC. "Whatever it is, just pray that she and my father will be blessed with a child."
If Datuk Siti Nurhaliza is pregnant, she won't let on about it just yet. An insider told Berita Harian that the 36-year-old is expecting, as reportedly revealed by her stepson Asyraf Khalid at his wedding earlier this month.
"It's not the right time for me to talk about it," the singer told New Straits Times more recently after her concert at Istana Budaya.
"I was shocked to hear about the report. My stepson was also surprised, he never said anything of the sort," Siti clarified, adding that "I just have to wait for the right time. I pray for good things to happen and I sincerely hope that everyone will do the same for me."
Rumours about her pregnancy were fuelled by a photo of a drink containing goat's milk and dates that she posted on Instagram yesterday. Berita Harian noted that the drink is favoured by pregnant women for its nutritional value.
Siti has yet to be a mother since she tied the knot with Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, who has four children of his own from a previous marriage. In July, she expressed her wish to be a mother.
"I hope one day I will be blessed with a child of my own even though I already have children from my husband's previous marriage," she said on an episode of celebrity TV programme Romantika Raya. "Even if I cannot conceive, it is okay. My husband and I have discussed that when we're older, we would like to live in the holy land of Mecca."
