Iggy Azalea denies blaming Britney Spears for 'Pretty Girls' flop
The singer blames media for misunderstanding her tweets instead
Tweeting and then getting your tweet spun into stories bigger than it is – just one of the everyday struggles of a celebrity. Iggy Azalea is in the hot seat once again after she was accused of blaming her friend Britney Spears for their song Pretty Girls's not-so-good reception. The Australian rapper, however, called out the Internet for twisting her words.
The singer's first comments came when a fan noted how despite the song not topping charts, it was still wildly popular.
@rhuancesarr its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured...— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 28, 2015
@rhuancesarr i would have enjoyed performing it alot, i think it got off to a powerful start. but you need content to compete in 2015.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 28, 2015
And then came the sensationalised headlines, which got on Iggy's nerves.
@ThePopZone my comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans asshole 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 29, 2015
