Just as the furore over one high-profile wedding (almost) dies down, more begins. Now that George Clooney is engaged, and the internets have imploded with Amal Alamuddin searches, we can start with the proper speculation: Where will the wedding be? According to one source, Downton Abbey. That's where.

Apparently the actor and the lawyer took a private tour of Highclere Castle, the famous filming site of Downton Abbey, and Amal was so taken with the location that George Clooney started making enquiries. What a guy – naturally the people at Highclere eagerly acquiesced but no official confirmation or announcement has been made just yet. Now we just need a rumoured designer of Amal's wedding dress and the whole speculation cycle can truly begin.
