Fatherhood is changing Ryan Reynolds
For one, his patience level is now limitless
Ryan Reynolds doesn't usually strike anyone (or himself, really) as being a patient person, but since becoming a dad, he's surprised himself with his newfound tolerance – this includes tackling nearly sleepless nights.
"I'm surprised how patient I am with it. I feel like I could sometimes have a bit of a short fuse, but there's just been this weirdly endless supply of patience," the Deadpool actor said in the October issue of GQ magazine. "I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time."
Aww... He'd do anything for his baby girl James – really, anything.
"I was told that I needed to check her temperature through the rectum," Ryan said on Live with Kelly and Michael on Monday. "I was like, 'No. Can't be. There's a mouth, there's an armpit, there's got to be something."
That turned out fine, according to the new dad.
"It all went well though. I didn't lose it. It came back out," he joked about the thermometer.
I'd walk through fire for my daughter. Well not FIRE, because it's dangerous. But a super humid room. But not too humid, because my hair.— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) September 11, 2015
Even when James seems to prefer mum Blake Lively to Ryan right now (remember why?), he clearly loves his job, so much so that James could have siblings one day.
"I like it: I mean that in the heaviest context," Ryan added to GQ. "I genuinely like it. I like being a father. I like having a daughter. I would like to have more kids. It seems to suit me pretty well."
Yes it does, Ryan. James, you lucky girl, you.
