Farewells and thank you notes to the Obamas
I'm not crying, you're crying
As America (with the rest of the world watching intently) prepares itself for a new president, Hollywood and the fashion industry are saying their final goodbyes to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. As if his farewell address didn't get us choked up, Barack wrote a final letter to his nation. The 3-word takeaway: "Yes, we can."

As one of the most stylish First Ladies and a huge supporter of the fashion industry, Michelle has become a fashion icon in her own right. To celebrate that, WWD asked designers who have dressed her such as Prabal Gurung and Monique Lhuillier to write farewell thank you notes. Read all the letters here.
The stream of thanks is not over yet; expect to see a lot more celebrity tributes packing the #ObamaFarewell hashtag. We'll leave you with Michelle's last tweet on the FLOTUS account. We'll miss you, Obamas!
