We're bookmarking the best flight rates to New York City for the end of the year because word has it that Hollywood darling Emma Stone is "in negotiations" to make her Broadway debut in burlesque musical Cabaret.

Emma had previously been tapped to take on the show's lead role, Sally, for its revival in early 2014, but she had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts. My Week With Marilyn's Michelle Williams (pictured, left) was cast instead.

If the negotiations are successful – or if we had our way – Emma will take over from Michelle, whose run was extended through 9 November. Both actresses have had no Broadway experience prior to playing the Kit Kat Club's star on stage.

Emma will make her Roudabout Theater Company introduction under the direction and choreography of Skyfall's Sam Mendes and Into The Woods' Rob Marshall respectively, lest the creative team undergoes changes. Alan Cumming will presumably continue his role as the enigmatic Emcee. The show is slated to run until 4 January 2015.

After seeing Emma demonstrate her rapping prowess on a 2Day FM interview and smash Jimmy Fallon in a lip sync battle, we're game to see her knock out her audience in Cabaret, bowler hat and all.
