Word has it that Emma Stone has signed on to star next to Joaquin Phoenix in Woody Allen's next directing project. The still-unnamed film will probably also be written and produced by Woody. This goes on top of Emma's role in Woody's upcoming Magic in the Moonlight, starring Colin Firth.

Has Woody found a new muse? It would seem so, seeing as how the 78-year-old tends to have favourites – Scarlett Johansson, Diane Keaton, and Mia Farrow, to name a few – when he casts his films. It's also important to point out that recent Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine won Cate Blanchett an Academy Award for Best Actress, so perhaps the Vicky Cristina Barcelona director will guide Emma to earn a golden statue of her own soon.

Emma scores high in terms of acting skills (and being adorable), so we're very excited about how the star's career is sky-rocketing.
