Ed Sheeran Sings To Dying Teen
English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran fulfils a dying girl's dreams by singing to her
Triona Priestley, a 15-year-old Irish girl who suffered from cystic fibrosis had her final wish come true on Tuesday when her pop star hero Ed Sheeran reportedly sang to her on the phone. She passed away shortly after.
Triona's friends had written online about her wish to have Ed sing to her, prompting a Twitter campaign called #SongForTri, which began sometime last week. The campaign came to Ed's attention, and his manager apparently emailed Triona's friend, Lucy to arrange the call.
The Lego House singer kept his word and called Triona to sing a song of his that she loved, Little Bird, before she "slipped into a sleep...and passed away shortly afterwards," her brother Colm confirmed as he thanked the singer for supporting his sister.
Her story had impacted many; thousands of her friends and even people she didn't know helped to make her dream come true.
Ed later paid his respects on Twitter.
