Jenna Talackova stole our hearts when she was eliminated in last year’s Miss Universe Canada. Why? Because she's transgender.

Born as Walter, Jenna underwent gender-reassignment surgery at 19. Her elimination from the Miss Universe Pageant in 2012  drove her to successfully lobby for the Miss Universe eligibility rules to change, admitting transgender competitors to the pageant.

Jenna is now  helping to bring global awareness to this issue with her upcoming reality show Brave New Girl which aired on E! Canada on January 19. And as icing on the cake, Jenna was featured in a fashion spread in ELLE Canada's January 2014  edition.

Resplendent in Louis Vuitton Fall 2013's collection, Jenna tweeted the photos from her Twitter account last week. The Japanese and Korean fashion fan said, "You know, you need to be real with yourself, and you need to realise that it’s not a mistake. You have an amazing life to live live it the way you want to.” Check out the behind-the-scene video shoot here.

We love how LGBT rights are slowly gaining traction. Equality wins.
