Donít stop moviní: S Club 7 to make a comeback
Elsewhere, Jennifer Garner speaks up for women in Hollywood and our fave celeb couple renew their vows
Bring it all back, S Club 7!
Hugely popular pop group from the early noughties S Club 7 are set to make a comeback after their split in 2003. They’re scheduled for an exclusive performance on 14 November in a live telethon in aid of BBC’s Children in Need, a British charity.
The group of seven is known for successful chart toppers such as Never Had a Dream Come True, S Club Party and Reach, sold over four million albums during their brief five years together and snagged multiple awards. We're getting ready to bop again, 1999 style.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z renew their vows
It’s been a rocky few months for Bey and Jay-Z with rumours of an impending break-up, but People magazine have reported that things between them are more than okay. A source told the magazine that “They did have major problems. But they worked it out and they've renewed their vows.” People also report that the couple has been seen house-hunting in Paris over the past month and an insider confirms that, “They're looking for a place.” Renewed marriage vows and a potential home in the most romantic city in the world? We’re sighing happy sighs of relief.
Jennifer Garner makes a stand for women in Hollywood
During ELLE’s annual Women in Hollywood awards, actress Jennifer Garner spoke up for the gross under representation of women in the film industry.
“As lovely as this evening is, I look forward to this whole thing just being put out of business, because the fact that there needs to be a Women in Hollywood event is a little bit sad,” said Jennifer, who was being honoured together with Annette Bening and Elizabeth Banks for “the creative contributions they have made to the world of film – both in front of and behind the camera.”
“I mean, the 'Men in Hollywood' event is every day. It’s called Hollywood. Fifty-one percent of the population should not have to schedule a special event to celebrate the fact that in an art that tells the story of what it means to be human and alive, we get to play a part!"
To illustrate this very apparent gender divide, she also shared a personal example of how differently she and husband Ben Affleck were approached at a recent press junket. "[E]very single person who interviewed me asked me, ‘How do you balance work and family?' The only thing that people asked him repeatedly was about the tits on [his Gone Girl co-star Emily Ratajkowski]. No one had ever asked him about it [the work life balance]. And we do share the same family. Isn't it time to … change that conversation?"
Yes, we think so.
Kim Kardashian at 13 (isn’t too different from from the Kim Kardashian today)
It looks like it isn't just the fame of recent years that's given Kim Kardashian that bolshy, self-confident swagger we’ve all developed a love-hate obsession with. As she celebrates her 34th birthday this week, Entertainment Online dug into some home-video archives and found this video of a 13-year-old Kim making some pretty grand statements about just how “dope” she is.
"Does everyone get a tape of this? I hope you do so you can see me when I'm famous and remember me as this beautiful little girl!" she says, before going on to claim that she’s the “dopest of the ropest person in this class” and “more popular than Lisa” (Poor Lisa, whoever she is).
It’s all done with that excessive cringeworthy zeal you see only in teenage girls (“everybody loves me because I’m so popular!") but hey, that self-confidence sure seems to have gone a long way. After all, she really has become waaaaaaay more popular than Lisa. See the full video here.
