Beyoncé tops Forbes' Most Powerful Celebrity list
The Drunk In Love singer reigns supreme, beating Oprah, Rihanna, and her own husband Jay-Z on Forbes' illustrious list
Beyoncé has proven that she, indeed, runs the world – the entertainment world, at least. Topping this year's list of Forbes' Most Powerful Celebrities, the platinum album-selling singer, actress, and mother has dethroned media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who was last year's list-topper.
Touring with her husband Jay-Z (who ranks sixth) is only the tip of the iceberg that is her career. Along with her own line of fragrances, clothing company House of Dereon, multi-million-paying brand endorsements, and a recent album release surprise, it really is no wonder that Beyoncé's accolades don't stop here. Not only did she make the Most Powerful Celebrities list, but she also ranked number seventeen on Forbes' Most Powerful Women, and was named a Titan in TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People; all in just one year (phew!).
Queen Bey's earnings were estimated at $115 million, which is miles ahead of number two, basketballer LeBron James – not like they're ranked according to their earnings or anything. Coming third is Dr. Dre, who earned the most out of all 100, at $620 million (which could probably be attributed to Apple's acquisition of Beats), followed by Oprah at forth position.
In other ranking news, Taylor Swift dropped from number six to 18, while Jennifer Lawrence got a boost from 49 to 12, and Rihanna climbed to eighth position after coming in 13th last year. Ellen DeGeneres and Robert Downey Jr. had their last year's rankings halved this time around, with Ellen placed at fifth and Robert, tenth. While Miranda Kerr was listed as last year's 100th most powerful celebrity, she did not make the list this year.
