Beyoncé's concert and music video outfits on display
The Single Ladies singer's most memorable outfits will debut at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
Beyoncé Knowles is to be celebrated in a museum exhibit, which will showcase her most iconic outfits from her concerts and music videos. The pieces will debut at none other than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Legends of Rock section on 22 July 2014.
Her gold Gareth Pugh dress from Run The World (Girls), purple-feathered 2012 Met Gala Givenchy gown, Super Bowl 2013 Robin Singer leather outfit, and Sweet Dreams Wonder Woman-esque Thierry Mugler body suit are some of the highlights of what sounds like a spectacular exhibit.
"We felt that [Beyonce] really needed to take her rightful place alongside Aretha Franklin and the Supremes and Janis Joplin," Rock Hall curator Meredith Rutledge-Borger said. Apparently, the museum have been trying to court the singer for a long time.
"Rock and roll has an intergenerational appeal and we want to make sure we're hitting all the right notes and keeping up with what's happening today and what's legendary today," Meredith added.
Beyoncé makes Rock Hall history as the first person to be featured in the Legends of Rock exhibit without having been inducted into the Hall of Fame. And you needn't even ask why (but in case you did, this will help). The singer will become eligible for a spot among music legends as a member of Destiny's Child in 2022, and as a solo artist in 2027.
