Beyoncé and Jennifer Garner Ban The Word 'Bossy'

Some of the most influential female names in entertainment and fashion unite for girl empowerment PSA

Too many of us are too familiar with the words pushy, stubborn, and bossy. But as Beyoncé says, "I'm not bossy, I'm the boss."

Ban Bossy, a campaign brought together by Girl Scouts of USA and LeanIn.Org, aims to encourage girls to lead, sending the message that it is okay to be ambitious.

A PSA for Ban Bossy saw the likes of Beyoncé, Jennifer Garner, Jane Lynch, and Diane Von Furstenberg contesting labelling and name-calling.

The PSA also pointed out that by middle school, girls are less interested in leadership than boys and that's because they worry about being called bossy. This is a trend that continues into adulthood.

"Being labelled something matters," said Dallas Buyers Club star Jennifer Garner.

Jane Lynch, in perfect Sue Sylvester style, loudspeaker in hand, said "Ban bossy", calling everyone to sign a pledge to ban the B-word.
