Ariana Grande licks doughnuts, apologises for saying "I hate America"
Ariana Grande wrote in an essay last month that "having something to say is not the same as having a bad attitude." While the first bit represented the empowered feminist she calls herself, it seems like the second part was saved for occasions like licking doughnuts that aren't yours.
Security footage from a Wolfee Donut store in Lake Elsinore, California showed the singer and her boyfriend Ricky Alvarez daring each other to lick and spit on doughnuts that were on display on the counter. That wasn't all; Ariana was reportedly also being a bad customer.
"She was being rude," store owner Joe Marin told Us Weekly. "She kept telling my employee – an experienced doughnut server – she came to buy six doughnuts. She kept wanting the doughnut in the back because my bakers were baking at that time. So my employee kept going in the back to go get the doughnuts that they were baking, [then] she brought them out there and put them on top of the doughnut display, and [Grande] sent her to go get some more."
"What the f**k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America! That's disgusting," Ariana was heard saying in the footage when an employee brought out a fresh tray of doughnuts.
Unfortunately, the doughnut abuse went unnoticed until after the footage was reviewed, and the affected pastries were sold to unsuspecting customers.
After making the derogatory comment, Ariana issued an apology and attempted to change the subject to obesity issues in America.
Let's hope she meant it when she said "as a public figure I will strive to be better." Meanwhile, we're staying off doughnuts for a while.
