Amy Schumer shares brutally honest opinion about the Met Gala
"It's my worst nightmare"
Amy Schumer is not your regular celebrity. She doesn't like celebrity-type parties and will not filter her thoughts about them just to protect your feelings. For most celebs, things like the Met Gala make for an exciting night of high fashion and mingling (that's the in-crowd speak for networking), but for the actress who attended this year's gala, it was a trainwreck.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Amy said that celebrity frivolities were her "worst nightmare."
"It's so fake, it's just people doing an impression of having a conversation," she said, "You have to wear things that are uncomfortable... I like talking to people one-on-one. Two-on-one's fine. Where you can be comfortable and really have a conversation. I don't like the farce."
Amy admitted that she left this year's Met Gala earlier than she should have been allowed, but her one exciting moment was meeting Beyoncé. "I got to meet Beyoncé and she was like, 'Is this your first Met Gala?' and I was like, 'It's my last.'"
"We're dressed up like a bunch of f-cking assholes," she added with a sigh. "I have no interest in fashion. I like the idea of coming up with a way to dress that's more comfortable, that looks cool; that sounds good to me. But other than that, I don't care."
But what about bestie Jennifer Lawrence? She's a celebrity too, right? Amy implied that she and Jennifer hit it off because they keep it real. We guess she's also changed her mind about being open to any girl squad who will have her (maybe just not celebrity squads).
