If you're familiar with the K-Pop world, then the name CL won't be strange to you. Lee Chae-rin, better known as CL from K-Pop girl group sensation 2NE1, is in the works to debut as a solo artist in The United States of America this coming Spring 2015.

Exclusive reports by Korean news outlet Star News said that CL has already finished recording some songs and is planning to release her first international single in the U.S.

The 23 year old rapper's agency, YG Entertainment has confirmed the news and stated that CL will be under the management of Scooter Braun's label, Schoolboy Records, the same label as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Gangnam Style sensation, PSY.

The United States is a tough market to break especially for an Asian; even her peers such as Wonder Girls, Girls' Generation, Se7en and BoA dipped their toes in the American market and received weak response. With CL's rapping skills, outstanding stage presence, killer fashion sense (she's Jeremy Scott's muse and best friend) and English fluency, do you think CL will be a big sensation when she debut? Let's hope so.

Here's her first Korean solo single which was released last year:

"Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good, you know?"
