Make room for Shiseido's ultra-minimal, innovative new skincare line

There's something called a Soft and Cushy Polisher

Shiseido is a beauty powerhouse. For over a century, the brand has consistently fused cutting edge technology and natural ingredients as well as beauty approaches from East and West. This best-of-all-worlds sensibility is more than apparent in its new skincare line, WASO.

I mean, just look at those bottles. The collection's chic, minimalist packaging could comfortably sit on marble sink-tops of millennials anywhere in the world, yet the innovative gels and creams inside draw from Shiseido's deep Japanese heritage.

The range is inspired by washoku, the tradition of Japanese food that celebrates the natural flavour of ingredients and the harmony they create together. It's a philosophy of 'simple, yet sophisticated.'

While the use of edible ingredients like carrot, tofu, honey, loquat leaf and snow fungus throughout the regime may seem odd at first, it reflects how all the ingredients work together effectively to restore balance to the skin.

Unlike some astonishingly vast skincare lines, WASO is kicking things off with just seven simple products. There's a hydrating cream, three types of moisturisers that correct colour and texture, the squee-inducing Soft + Cushy Polisher, a cleanser and jelly lotion!

We especially love the plumping, nourishing Clear Mega-hydrating Cream (RM160) and Quick Gentle Cleanser (RM105), which foams without water, gently purifying skin without that stripped, squeaky feeling.

WASO is available at selected Shiseido counters nationwide August 2017 onwards.

To celebrate the grand launch of this millennial-targeted range, WASO is throwing a morning garden rave party on 19 August 2017 and you can score an invite! Watch the video below for a glimpse of the fun and head over to the WASO microsite to learn how to win event passes and mystery gifts.
