Sephora and Pantone launch 2016 colours makeup line
We're seeing clouds of pink and blue coming our way
Every year, Pantone Universe picks the colours of the year, and Sephora creates a matching limited edition line featuring those hues. For 2016 it's Rose Quartz and Serenity – a warm, pink pastel and a tranquil, muted blue, colours that make a smashing makeup collection we can't wait to get our hands on.
The colours are sublime, fun and avant-garde, all rolled into one. The collection includes six lip glosses, two lip colours in the shades of the year, and a 24-shade eyeshadow palette. Blue lipstick? In that spot-on, non-cloying hue, sign us up. If you're thinking the hues are too whacky for your taste, think again – there isn't anything wrong with wearing an unconventional hue of lipstick, and carrying it off with a cool aplomb and loads of confidence can really set you free.
Plus, we love this tip from Sephora for an ombré lip: "Apply either Rose Quartz or Serenity to your bottom lip and then rub the top into it for a modern, light gradient effect. Make sure there is enough color on the top and if not, reapply to the bottom lip again and repeat."
The first makeup tie-in with Pantone was out in 2012, but we've never seen one as pretty as this. There is no news yet on when it will hit our shores, but we'll keep you updated.
