It takes a lot more than just good looks to make heads turn these days. For MAC Cosmetics, it's about being magnificent… or rather, MACnificent and that's all about heart, soul, self-expression and being true to yourself.

So here's your chance to put yourself out there. A new social media campaign is calling for you to submit your own headline-worthy 'mantra' – describe what makes you the person you are in 140 characters or less. You can submit up to six mantras.

You'll also need to send in a 100-word essay about what makes you MACnificent and a headshot (or selfie) but these won't be made public.

Then, share up your mantra on any of your social media accounts (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter etc). This isn't a popularity contest and a tonne of likes won't guarantee wins, but it may just get MAC to take notice.

If you're one of the lucky six to be chosen by MAC, you'll win an all-expensive paid trip to New York city where you'll receive a make-over, have a photoshoot and stand a chance to be the next face for the brand's MACnificent Me Collection.

On top of all that, you'll also be sharing your magnificent words of wisdom with the world. Power to the people, folks!

The competition closes on 12 December so be sure to get your entries in before then. Contest details are available on the MACnificent Me website.
