Bad hair days are about to become a thing of the past, thanks to L'Oréal and Kérastase's new smart hairbrush called the Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings.

The Kérastase Hair Coach has sensors to determine whether your hair is wet or dry and a built-in microphone that lets it listen to the sound of brushing to identify your routine. It can also count your brush strokes and tell how much pressure is applied when brushing. The data it accumulates can help prevent hair breakage and split ends.

But you'll have to make sure that it's also connected to the internet and that you've downloaded its corresponding app UX, into your smartphone so that it can recommend Kérastase products that will help care for your hair. According to L'Oréal, the app then "takes into account weather factors like humidity, temperature, UV and wind, which also impact hair's manageability and quality".

"It will basically be your hair coach," said Guive Balooch, the Vice President of L'Oréal's Technology Incubator. "When you brush your hair, it will do a good job to make sure your hair is smooth." Reports say that the Hair Coach will retail under USD $200 this fall at Kérastase hair salons and online too.

We've yet to receive news whether it will be coming to our shores, so fingers crossed!
