Laneige Malaysia is contributing 30 community water filters to Orang Asli communities for their Waterful Sharing Campaign corporate social responsibility project. Partnering with international non-profit Global Peace Foundation, this is the fourth installation of their campaign to provide rural communities with access to clean water.

Dr. Teh Su Thye, CEO of GPF, explained that his organisation's work in clean water projects began on a study mission where they discovered that many Orang Asli communities do not have access to potable water. In their research, they found that villagers have to walk great distances to reach wells, which are easily muddied in storms and made unsafe from pesticides used in palm oil plantations, while other water catchment areas are prone to contamination from wildlife.

The Waterful Sharing Campaign picks up from last year's project, when the brand built water filtration systems in Kampung Binjai in Pahang and Kampung Ulu Geruntum in Perak. Laneige is also committed to improving the impact of their contribution to the communities.

This year, instead of building a single large filtration system for the entire area, they are placing many 50-litre portable filters around the mostly scattered communities of Kampung Padang in Pahang and Kampung Poh in Perak instead.

"From 2016's experience, we learned that families that are further away from the filters were less likely to use them," said Dr. Teh.

Last year's beneficiaries will also receive an additional four filters from the allocated 30.

Want to contribute? RM10 from every sale of Laneige's limited "Refill Me" Water Sleeping masks will be directed towards the Laneige Waterful Sharing Campaign 2017 fund. The mask is also available in a new Lavender Scent for a limited time, and all purchases will come with a free, ultra cute water bottle in a matching design.

Laneige Malaysia aims to raise RM100,000 through the Waterful Sharing Campaign 2017, which runs from 1st May to 31st July 2017 at roadshows across Malaysia. Information on the roadshows are available at or
