A closer look at the Marc Jacobs AW16 hairstyle
Lady Gaga takes fans behind-the-scenes at the designer's show with a short video on Instagram
Lady Gaga walked for the Marc Jacobs Autumn Winter 2016 runway show and was nearly unrecognisable with her blonde hair, dark lips and heavily-lined eyes. This transformation happened literally right after she sported flaming red hair at V Magazine's party as well as another copper-orange hue at the Grammy Awards and Brandon Maxwell's runway show, so you'll forgive us for stumbling as we try to catch up with the style chameleon.
The singer posted an Instagram video, revealing how she got the 1920s finger waves she and the other models sported. Guido Palau – legendary runway hair maestro who has worked with Marc Jacobs on runway shows and campaigns in previous seasons – is the mastermind behind the sleek look. The technique seen in the video is thoroughly fascinating and was further explained by Guido to ELLE UK.
"Finger waving is very old fashioned technique from the 20s, even earlier, Victorian days," Guido said. "We modernised it by leaving the ends out so you get these two textures, the natural ends give it a kind of gothic mood which feels a little strange. We used Redken Hardwear Gel, which we finger waved into the hair and strong hold hairspray to set it in. She's a darker character this season but still done whimsically. The whole silhouette is very extreme."
We already watched Gaga's video several times and can't get enough of it – we dare you not to feel the same.
