KFC has heard your cry for the smell and taste of fried chicken to stay on your fingers, and so the company has made edible nail polish that apparently tastes like, well, KFC chicken. Yes, so crazy, we had to check today's date just be extra sure it wasn't April Fools' Day.

Staying true to the menu, the nail polishes come in Original (nude) and Hot & Spicy (bright orange). The campaign is being carried out in Hong Kong, and was confirmed by ad agency Ogilvy & Mather Group.

"Yes, it is actually a real thing," Anna Mugglestone, marketing and communications director for Ogilvy & Mather Group in Hong Kong, told The New York Times. "I tried it myself in the office when they were doing testing... It tastes like chicken. It's crazy. I don't know how they do it."

"To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick – again and again and again," KFC said in a statement. Um, okay. Pass the ketchup?

The company has even made a music video and took to social media to get consumers to decide which flavour will be mass produced. The downside: it's unlikely that the finger lickin' good nail polish will be extended to the Malaysian market, so if you're keen on cosmetics that taste like chicken, we hope you have friends in Hong Kong to do you a favour.
