Jessica Chastain is the face of Woman by Ralph Lauren
The brand unveils its first scent for women in nine years, with a campaign starring Jessica Chastain
Ralph Lauren is diving back into the world of women's fragrances. The American designer brand just launched Woman by Ralph Lauren, its first female fragrance in nine years. Oscar-nominated star Jessica Chastain was also announced as the scent's ambassador.
Shot by the renowned Steven Meisel, the perfume's campaign sees Jessica balancing femininity and power in both an evening gown and tailored suit, proving that a woman can be whoever she pleases. This also reflects the scent itself, a mixture of delicate tuberose and orange flower with earthy notes of sandalwood and hazelnut.
Jessica has always been vocal about women's rights, standing up for what she believes in, much like the fragrance tagline: "Women Above All."
"It used to be that feminine meant only to be soft and kind, but now we understand that being feminine also can mean being successful and being ambitious and being intelligent in addition to kind and compassionate," Jessica told WWD. "Femininity is whatever a person defines for themselves. It's moved away from this old-fashioned notion of what a woman is." We couldn't relate more.
Woman by Ralph Lauren rolls out worldwide from August 2017.
