Helen Mirren is L'Oreal's new ambassador
The Academy Award-winning Dame proves that beauty doesn't falter with age
Helen Mirren was not airbrushed in her newest L'Oreal photos.
Yup, you read that right, the Academy Award-winning actress is as real as can be in the images from L'Oreal, announcing their latest beauty ambassador. Helen, who is to star in 2015 drama Woman in Gold, had insisted that her photos were not to be re-touched.
"I am not gorgeous and I never was, but I was always OK looking and I'm keen to stay that way," she said. "I have always loved the L'Oreal Paris brand, and I hope I can inspire other women towards greater confidence by making the most of their natural good looks. We are all worth it!"
The 69-year-old believes in wearing less makeup as you get older, and relies on her natural self to shine through. True, you can see wrinkles and smile lines in the photo, but humble Helen is undoubtedly beautiful.
This isn't the first time that a beauty brand has approached older women to be their spokeswomen. Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton are two other L'Oreal faces who have broken the age convention, besides Charlotte Rampling and Jessica Lange, who fronted Nars and Marc Jacobs Beauty respectively just this year.
