Here to give us more reason to splurge is MAC Cosmetics, who have just announced their Star Trek makeup collection, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved television and film franchise.

"Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomena whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries," MAC creative director James Gager said. "For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek's powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection."

Expect a 25-piece collection (lip, eye and face) worthy of any of your best sci-fi dreams. The collection was inspired by Seven of Nine, Commander Deanna Troi, Uhura and Vina the Orion slave girl.

The MAC x Star Trek collection launches globally from September 2016. However, it can be shopped prior to that at an exclusive pre-sale at the Gaslamp MAC store on Thursday, 21 July 2016 during the San Diego Comic Con in California.

Here's your first peek at the collection.
