Review: Nike Sculpt Hyper tights
Tights designed for you to flow, pulse or plié with ease
Nike Sculpt Hyper tights, RM215, at Nike stores
What it is
These tights are one of the nine new tights in the Nike Pants Studio line that were designed with a specific exercise in mind. This particular pair is designed for movements that focus on posture such as yoga, pilates and barre.
Why I love it
As someone who tries to stay fit by doing a variety of exercises (pilates, rhythmic cycling and barre are some of my favourites at the moment), I know the importance of wearing the right pair of tights. A pair that may work great for spin class (something super lightweight, thin and breathable) won’t cut it at the barre and vice versa.
When I’m doing pilates or barre exercises, the most important element that I seek for in a pair of tights is support. This is why these Nike Sculpt Hyper tights are so great. It has a high-rise compression waistband that gives the sensation of core support while still allowing me to bend and move freely with ease. Everything feels secure and held in place without being restrictive.
Because the tights are of a dark charcoal grey colour and made of thicker fabric (that yet feels buttery soft when worn), I knew I could get bendy with complete peace of mind as the tights won’t become unexpectedly see-through on a downward dog. I also liked how the lack of side seams help streamline any bulges to maintain a smooth silhouette. In terms of breathability, the tights never once felt stuffy or uncomfortable despite being of a thicker fabric as the inclusion of power mesh on the back provides ventilation.
These tights are worth the investment as they fit like a glove, are incredibly comfortable and will give you the support you seek when it comes to yoga, pilates and barre exercises. Petite and shorter girls will also benefit from the slightly cropped cut as it gives the flattering illusion of longer, leaner legs.
