How Rosie Huntington-Whiteley keeps fit
The British model shares her personal tips on eating healthy and exercising
This couldn't come at a better time. In an interview with The Daily Mail on her Autograph Active collection for Marks & Spencer, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley revealed a few fitness tricks that will make your fitness resolutions for the new year (if you made any) a little easier to execute.
1. Ease your way into it by mixing workouts.
"January can always seem quite a daunting time of year to get back into the gym. To keep motivated I find that alternating work outs and mixing interval, low and high intensity training really helps. I love to mix in Pilates and fun dance classes too."
2. Skipping does wonders.
"If you're short on time try skipping – I love it as it gets the heart rate up immediately and works out so many parts of your body. It's a great cardio alternative that also helps tone at the same time."
3. Working with an instructor motivates her.
If exercising alone has never made you dread the next time you're supposed to work out, find a gym buddy or instructor.
4. Stick to your meals.
"Never miss meals for the sake of saving calories. Breakfast is really important for me and sets me up for the day."
5. Her breakfast beats yours.
Rosie eats eggs with spinach for breakfast. After working out, she drinks a healthy green smoothie and aims to drink two litres of water before lunch.
6. It's all about moderation.
"Try and maintain a good balanced diet. I'm a real foodie but when I'm at home I try and cook very nutritious, organic and basic foods and when I'm out I'll enjoy myself, but try and make healthy choices."
7. In the lead-up to big events, she doesn't starve herself but is selective about what she eats.
"I try to avoid carbs if I have a lingerie shoot or red carpet event and try to drink as much water as I can to keep hydrated."
